For the sixth consecutive year, Airports Council International (ACI) World is proud to present the ACI World Airport Innovation Awards—now under a renewed title—celebrating the increasingly vital role that innovation plays in advancing the global airport community.

These awards invite projects and leadership initiatives that enhance passenger experience, improve operational efficiency, and optimize airport processes for passengers, employees, and aviation stakeholders.

Winners, as well as the top five finalists in each category, will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at the ACI Airports Innovate event, taking place from 23 to 25 November 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. The winners will be exclusively invited to present their innovation in a dedicated session at the conference.

2026 ACI World Airport Innovation Awards:
Admissibility and Categories

Submissions for the 2026 ACI World Airport Innovation Awards will be open until 16 June 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.

Admissibility

The contest is open to all ACI airport members, and we encourage airports of all sizes to participate.

Note: Submissions should not be limited to the use or application of an existing tool unless they clearly demonstrate a distinct innovative element—such as a novel adaptation, integration, or approach that goes beyond standard implementation.

ACI reserves the right to disqualify any submission if the information provided is insufficient or if the submission does not meet the stated requirements.

Categories

The ACI World Airport Innovation Awards are comprised of four categories for all ACI member airports. The innovation must have been implemented between January 2025 and May 2026 to qualify. Each airport can submit only one entry per category, and the same entry cannot be proposed for more than one category — no exceptions will be allowed. There are no fees to participate.

Evaluation Committee of Experts

A committee composed of independent industry experts, with a strong knowledge and interest in technology, innovation and industry transformation have been selected. There will be no current airport employees or industry suppliers.
