The global authority for airport data and intelligence
Why ACI World is the trusted source for airport traffic data?
ACI World is the global voice of airports and the leading source of airport traffic statistics. Each year, ACI World collects, validates, and analyzes operational data reported directly by more than 2,800 airports across over 180 countries and territories.
Our rankings are used by airports, aviation industry partners, governments, investors, researchers, and media organizations worldwide to benchmark performance and understand the latest aviation trends.
How the rankings are calculated?
ACI World rankings are based on standardized airport-reported data. Category rankings include:
- Total passengers (enplaned and deplaned passengers, with transit passengers counted once)
- International passengers (enplaned and deplaned)
- Aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs)
- Cargo volumes (freight and mail loaded and unloaded, measured in metric tonnes)
Preliminary rankings are published annually in April using the latest available airport data, and are confirmed in July, following a comprehensive validation process.
