Leadership Committee: Manoj Kumar

Manoj Kumar is the Senior Manager - Standards & Performance at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), where he works at the intersection of airport operations, performance management, customer experience and strategic intelligence. His professional journey has been shaped by a strong interest in how airports can use data, insight and intelligence to translate operational complexity into better efficiency, stronger performance and more meaningful experiences for passengers.

Earlier in his career, Manoj was part of the Office of the Chief Operating Officer at BIAL, working closely with the COO and senior leadership on a broad spectrum of strategic and operational priorities. In this capacity, he played a key role in supporting the full breadth of the executive agenda, spanning strategic objectives, performance oversight, cross-functional priorities, stakeholder matters and organisation-wide initiatives. His experience here also encompassed the wider dimensions of airport leadership and management, including organisational priorities, business considerations, institutional relationships and the diverse interests that shape a complex airport environment.

Manoj is particularly interested in how airports can harness data, technology and human insight to become more intelligent, responsive and high-performing organisations. He believes that performance is most meaningful when data moves beyond measurement to become a tool for understanding behaviour, identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges and enabling better decisions.

In 2024, Manoj was recognised as the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Young Executive Award winner for his work on promoting a culture of cybersecurity through collaboration among airport stakeholders. The recognition reflected his belief that some of aviation’s most important challenges require not only technological solutions, but collaboration, shared intelligence and a common sense of purpose across the ecosystem.

As a member of the ACI World Young Professionals Steering Committee, Manoj is committed to contributing to a stronger and more connected global aviation community. He believes that the strength of aviation lies in its ability to bring together diverse perspectives, learn from one another and continually challenge established ways of working, while helping create opportunities for the next generation of aviation professionals to bring fresh perspectives to an industry undergoing profound transformation.
