The World Environment Standing Committee develops ACI's policies on global aviation environmental issues. It consists of 25 members from all ACI regions. The issues the Committee is dealing with comprise aircraft noise, aircraft engine emissions and air quality at airports, environmental management systems, ground water management, waste management, wildlife management, resource management and site remediation at airports.
To specifically deal with the overarching issues of aircraft noise and engine emissions the Committee has established its CAEP group. CAEP is the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection within ICAO setting the global standards for aircraft noise and aircraft engine emissions. Members of the ACI-CAEP Group are assigned to ICAO CAEP Working groups actively participating in the preparation of the tri-annual CAEP meetings.
