ASQ Awards 2023

2023 ASQ Awards Categories

The prestigious annual Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards are presented to the top performing ACI member airports. ASQ is the only global benchmarking program that measures passengers’ satisfaction while they are at the airport, on the day of travel, creating a unique perspective for each participating airport. ASQ survey is offered in more than 50 languages and completed by passengers. The award winners are determined solely by ratings provided by passengers.

Departures Awards

Best Airports by Size and Region 

The top 20% of airports under each size and region category will be recognized. A minimum of 3 participants is required to recognize a size/region category.

For an airport in a size/region category that does not meet the minimum 3 airports requirement, ACI will compare the airport’s overall satisfaction score to the scores of all participants in that airport’s region. If the airport has the highest score in their region, airport will be awarded under their respective size/region category. Note, the airport needs to achieve the ASQ Award eligibility criteria for this consideration.

2023 ASQ Awards Eligibility and Scoring

ASQ eligibility criteria

For an airport to be eligible to receive an ACI ASQ award, the airport must be an active participant in the ACI ASQ main type survey program, and must complete a full calendar year of participation, in accordance with the program rules. ASQ conducts quarterly quality audits to review data collection, airports shall pass all ASQ quality audits to be eligible. Any breach of fieldwork rules may result in the exclusion of the participating airport from the annual rankings and/or awards. ACI reserves the right to make the final selection and announcement of the ASQ award winners.

For an airport member to be eligible, the airport member agrees to fully comply with ASQ fieldwork guidelines, and the minimum criteria stated in the following section.

  • As always, ASQ questionnaires need to be completed by passenger following ASQ fieldwork guidelines. For airports using paper ASQ questionnaires, blank/void questionnaires need to be returned at the end of every quarter.
