Salary Range: $91,664.30 – $151,316.10
Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of four years of professional or administrative experience in an airport facility, transportation or governmental operations to include supervisory experience are required. Customer service experience in managing a public at large organization is highly desirable.
Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.
An employee in this class is responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising operations and customer services for terminal facilities at Miami International Airport on a twenty-four hour seven-day basis. Responsibilities include; coordinating work with airline station managers and federal agencies, directing constant patrol and inspection of terminal facilities, supervising a twenty-four hour communications center, managing the seamless flow of the passenger journey through the development of customer service initiatives, directing building management activities, overseeing performance of janitorial service agreements and providing for the safety and security of passengers, businesses, and airport and departmental employees. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment and technical managerial expertise in directing comprehensive terminal facilities operations to provide for the safety and convenience of passengers and businesses at Miami International Airport. Supervision is exercised through subordinate levels of supervisors over an extensive staff (approximately 200 employees) engaged in various phases of terminal operations.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, identifying budgetary needs and streamlining all operating procedures, as well as developing sound business practices to increase productivity and overall efficiencies in the Terminal Operations Division’s strategic goals. The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating an ethical, efficient, competitive, and cost-effective process for acquiring high quality services while safeguarding the integrity of the operations against waste, fraud, and abuse. The incumbent will ensure compliance with all County, State, Federal, and Local regulations pertaining to procurement contracts applicable to MIA’s Operations at the Federal, State, and Local levels.
