Reports to: Director, Airport Technology, and Innovation
Location: Montreal

I. Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage the workplan of the ACI World IT Standing Committee and the implementation of the ACI Innovation and Technology programme.
  • Lead the development of best practice, documentation and guides as well as the implementation of initiatives in the areas of technology improvements, innovation and other relevant operational areas, with a focus on creating efficiency for airport operators;
  • Support and encourage collaboration with relevant industry organisations in order to develop common initiatives related to innovation, technology, facilitation, passenger experience, or other operational matters.
  • Support the work and initiatives underway within the context of ICAO Assemblies, Panels and Working Groups addressing innovation and technology
  • Manage portfolios effecting services to airport operations as defined in the Safety, Security and Operations Multi-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Support other ACI teams, as necessary, in the implementation of the Security, Customer Experience and Airport Operations portfolios as well as in other areas of expertise where relevant, particularly those aspects that overlap with or affect Innovation and Technology.

II. Major Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Manage the operations and co-ordinate the World Airport IT Standing committee’s work programme.
  • Identify and monitor airport technologies trends and developments.
  • Assist with development of guidance materials on the deployment and use of airport technologies.
  • Promote ACI’s products, services and standards across the aviation community.
  • Coordinate work with ACI’s partners such as IATA and represent ACI’s positions with global regulatory bodies such as ICAO.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations.
  • Support the ACI Safety, Security and Operations team at meetings and events.
  • Development of the various ACI Best practices, handbooks, and Recommended Practices (RPs) as appropriate, including ensuring that the relevant working groups and committees keep the documents up to date and relevant.
  • Report to and liaise with staff in the Regional Offices on Innovation and Technology related issues and participate in various regional committees on a regular basis;
  • Other duties: Fulfil other duties and mandates on behalf of ACI as assigned.

Technical knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Strong technical understanding of current and emerging trends and technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT, autonomous vehicles, digital transformation.
  • At least two years’ experience in airport IT, operations or aviation related IT.
  • Advanced skills in creating and maintaining technical and business documentation.
  • Visionary mindset and experience with innovative projects.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, other languages are an asset.
  • Able to produce documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Pro-active, collegial, tactful, diplomatic, and discreet in all dealings.
  • Self-starting and able to drive own agenda.
  • Ability to communicate in a welcoming, effective, and dynamic manner.
  • University degree in technical or Business Administration.
  • Supplementary aviation or airport-related professional qualification beneficial
