I. Main Areas of Responsibility
Under the supervision of the Senior Analyst, Airport Economics, the Data Analyst - Airport Economic Statistics shall deliver on the following tasks:
Economic data outputs:
- Collect, process, and verify the ACI Airport Economics Questionnaire data;
- Ensure the accuracy and coherence of the collected data by performing statistical quality control checks; triangulate across several data sources to validate the integrity of the reported data;
- Handle day- to-day communications with economic data providers (more than 600 international members) related to erroneous data, data submission reminders, queries on statistical nomenclature and other related issues;
- Maintain a schedule of deliverables;
- Update contacts, checklists, and data providers for the submission of annual forms;
- Compile and map financial statements to the ACI Airport Economics Questionnaire with special attention on balance sheets, income statements, data on airport infrastructure, employment, and capital expenditure;
- Suggest and develop enhancements to the overall data collection process, data quality and estimation of missing data;
- Collaborate with information technology staff, internal specialists, and vendors by conducting user acceptance testing of modules of ACI Intelligence Hub (and other IT projects) and reporting findings to relevant parties;
- Support Supervisor, Communications Department, and other stakeholders by providing written analyses of airport economics and other data for inclusion in monthly press releases, publications, and other related outputs;
- Develop and support presentations both for expert-level and general audiences either for own delivery and/or for delivery by supervisor;
Other related tasks as requested by supervisor
II. Experience and Education
- 1 to 3 years of experience in data collection, data processing, database development, statistical quality control, data analysis, and/or a combination of education and training;
- University degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Management Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.);
- Aviation industry experience an asset
III. Skills and Assets:
- Strong quantitative and computer skills; Proficient in MS Office (e.g., Word, Access, PowerPoint) with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel is required;
- Superior organizational skills to carry out all tasks required; Ability to handle, process and analyse large amounts of data to deliver time sensitive outputs;
- Excellent written English skills: ability to communicate in a welcoming, effective, and dynamic manner; Other languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese or Chinese are considered assets;
- Database development, administration and business analysis experience an asset;
- Knowledge of one or more statistical packages;
- Knowledge of one or more data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI) an asset;
