This position supervises airfield and communication center operations and coordinates the administration, operation and compliance of airside, terminal and landside activities, to include the general oversight of public safety and airport operations at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. The Airport Operations Supervisor at STL ensures compliance with applicable FAA regulations and standards, reviews airfield inspection reports, assists with FAA certification inspections and compliance with FAR Par 139 requirements, updates and amends STL’s airport certification manual, the airport emergency plan, and any other Part 139 documents. Other duties include responding to airfield emergencies and incidents, reviewing airfield reports and coordinating snow removal operations. He or she provides daily supervision of the administrative functions; directing, coordinating and reviewing the work of assigned personnel; assigning work activities and projects; monitoring work flow and readiness; inspecting, and evaluating work products, and procedures; and meeting with staff to identify and resolve problems. This person reports to the Airport Assistant Director Operations and Maintenance, must be available for shift and weekend work as needed and be on-call for 24 hour response during emergencies and periods when acting as Manager on Duty.
