Overview

An essential one-day program for airport professionals on finance and sustainability​​

ACI World has partnered with the premier Global Airport Development (GAD World) conference to provide an interactive masterclass that provides participants with critical foundations in airport finance linked to sustainability and decarbonization targets.​

Top experts from the World Bank, ACI, and industry will present some of the latest trends, data, and insights, as well as the necessary instruments, market conditions, and regulatory frameworks to develop airport infrastructure and the associated socio-economic gains of air transport.​

Dr. Charles E. Schlumberger

Dr. Charles Schlumberger is the Lead Air Transport Specialist of the World Bank in Washington DC. He is responsible for the Bank’s policy and development priorities in the field of air transportation. He supervises or participates directly in several air transport projects globally, which range from air transport infrastructure financing, air carrier restructuring and/or privatization, air transport safety and security projects, and air transport policy advice to governments.

Waleed Youssef, PhD

Following years advising on airport acquisitions, Waleed Youssef joined the International Finance Corporation (the World Bank Group) in 2005 in the area of airport privatization, then Abu Dhabi Airports Company as its first Strategy and Corporatization Director in 2007 to lead the corporatization and certification of its three airports. Following this, in 2008, he joined TAV Airports Holding as its first foreign director and Chief Strategy Officer.

Curtis Grad

Curtis Grad is Chief Executive and founding partner of Modalis Infrastructure Partners Inc., a strategic investment and professional advisory services company specializing in international transport infrastructure privatization, investment, development and operations. During his 25+ year career in the transport infrastructure sector, he has led extensive change management and redevelopment programs for various international airport and port facilities worldwide, spanning Canada, Jamaica, Cyprus, and Jordan.

Alexandre Leigh

Alexandre Leigh has over twelve years of international banking experience, in both investment and advisory positions with HSBC, Macquarie Capital, and at IFC since 2009, where he covers the MENA region, as well as airports sector coverage globally. His aviation transaction experience includes public sector sell-side advisory for ECM/IPO type transactions, as well as PPP concession type models, in addition to buy-side airport advisory and investment mandates.

Dr. Rafael Echevarne

Dr. Rafael Echevarne is the Director General of Airports Council International – Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC), the international airports association. Previously, Rafael was CEO of Montego Bay Airport, Jamaica, and held positions in international organizations and airport companies in Europe, Australasia, and the Middle East, specializing in airport economic regulation, privatisation, and infrastructure and business development.

Patrick Lucas

Patrick Lucas has over 20 years of experience in analytic positions with progressive responsibility. He leads ACI’s policy positions related to economic regulation and charges, privatization, taxation, commercial activities, infrastructure management, and airport slots. Prior to joining ACI, Patrick worked for a United Nations statistical office where he contributed to major global reports aimed at analyzing economic and social progress based on internationally comparative data.

Jon Clyne

Jon Clyne has over 30 years’ experience as a transport, regulatory and financial economist in the public and private sectors, specializing in the economics of major transport projects. Currently, he is Head of Cost Assessment for the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA). Jon has also led the development of a new policy framework to deliver improved cost efficiency and benefits for CAPEX projects at Heathrow airport.
