Every year, 26 food and beverage establishments across Brisbane Airport (BNE) serve more than 5 million cups of coffee to over 22 million passengers. As Australian’s coffee palette is becoming increasingly refined, BNE’s drive to up-skill baristas across the airport is about changing travellers’ perceptions of airport coffee quality. Multi-award winning coffee professionals such as Wolff Coffee Roasters and Dandelion & Driftwood, have mentored baristas in a programme that culminated in the inaugural BNE Airport Barista Competition. Set to become an annual event, the programme has raised the quality of coffee served at BNE to ultimate heights.
