The ACI World Facilitation and Services Standing Committee (WFSSC) covers the following items: facilitation of passengers and their baggage, freight and mail; quality of service at airports; automated services integration for passengers and baggage; surface access to airports and inter-modal issues; dangerous goods, measures to combat drug trafficking; slot allocation and schedule coordination; and the inter-relationship between facilitation and security. The committee focuses on ICAO Annex 9 (Facilitation).
Current issues include: the application of biometrics to border control and airline processes; impact of Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) requests on facilitation; airport preparedness for outbreaks of communicable diseases; infrastructure requirements at airports; customer satisfaction and service quality benchmarking (ASQ); and airports & persons with disabilities.
