ACI World welcomes ICAO Secretary General Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar

Montreal, 2 August 2021 – Airports Council International (ACI) World has welcomed Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar of Colombia as he officially takes up the role of Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

ACI World looks forward to strengthening the already close relationship with Mr. Salazar and ICAO to continue to support and foster a sustained recovery of the aviation ecosystem, and extends its sincere gratitude for the enormous contribution made by outgoing Secretary General Dr. Fang Lui of China.

“We welcome Juan Carlos Salazar as he officially assumes the role of Secretary General and look forward to continuing the close working relationship we have developed with him and the ICAO team,” ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said. “Global collaboration and coordination between governments and the aviation industry is key to recovery and we are committed to playing our part in this global effort partnership with ICAO.

“I would also like to thank Dr. Fang Liu for her strong support to the airport industry and the instrumental role she has played in driving many joint ACI-ICAO initiatives forward.”

Since moving to Montreal in 2011, ACI World has established a close working relationship with ICAO. Along with ICAO and industry partners, ACI is focused on continued efforts to build back better and prepare for the future.
