Montreal, 19 September 2016 – The Airport Council International (ACI)-North America (NA)/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition, this year celebrating the organization’s 25th Anniversary, and graciously hosted by Aéroports de Montréal, is just days away. From 26–28 September, industry leaders from around the world will gather for an informative conference centered on charting the course for a safe, secure, sustainable and economically viable future for the world’s airports, and a leading-edge exhibition featuring the latest innovations from product and service providers.
The conference itself has been crafted from the ground up to give delegates the chance to deliberate on issues of particular interest to airports. Session topics include the traveler’s experience and increasing non-aeronautical revenue; perspectives on stakeholder engagement and climate change adaptation; crisis communications; and, responding to new and emerging security threats. A press conference will be held on 26 September 2016, from 2:00–2:30 PM. The meeting will have announcements, in consecutive order, from:
“It is a great pleasure to hold this press conference at our 25th Annual General Assembly,” said Gittens. “Charting the course for a safe, secure, sustainable and economically viable future for the world’s airports and the communities that they serve, includes producing reliable air transport forecasts. The ACI World Airport Traffic Forecast 2016–2040 provides an invaluable tool not only for the determination of future airport capacity requirements, but it also represents a comprehensive source of information for actors across the air transport value chain and a spectrum of industries such as tourism. I look forward to sharing our latest forecasts with the press.” “More and more, our industry issues are not isolated to one airport, one country, or one continent,” said Burke. “Our ability to bring the world’s airports together like this is because of ACI-NA’s global connection through ACI World and its five partner regions that work collaboratively to advance airport industry priorities on a global scale. We look forward to providing the media an update on ACI-NA’s work to solve infrastructure, security and environmental challenges together, learning from each other along the way. As ACI World celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, our global connections are only growing stronger.” ACI invites all qualified media to attend the ACI-NA/World Annual General Assembly and press conference. Those interested can submit the Media Registration Form before 22 September 2016. The conference’s opening session will include welcoming remarks from Burke, Riley, Gittens and Collier, as well as Jim Cherry, President and CEO, Aéroports de Montreal; Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montreal; and, Dominique Anglade, Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, Québec. The keynote address will be given by Peter Bergen, National Security Analyst, Cable News Network. |
